A full day on the French Riviera
Nice is best planned as a proper day trip. It is a larger city with a very different feel from the villages around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The Promenade des Anglais, the old town, markets, restaurants, museums, and seafront make it a rewarding visit if you want a more urban Riviera experience.
We recommend starting in Vieux Nice, walking through the old streets, visiting the Cours Saleya market area, and then continuing to the Promenade des Anglais. Nice is also a good option for guests who want more shopping, culture, and restaurant choice than the smaller coastal towns nearby.
Because the drive is longer, it is worth leaving early and treating Nice as a full-day excursion rather than trying to fit it between other plans.
Estimated driving distance from Grimaud Village: around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes in normal traffic.
